The St. Lucie Habitat for Humanity Women Build 2019 is a catalyst for community building by helping women to empower one another to build strength, stability, and self-reliance. We have partnered with Sunrise Ford to build a new home for the Moise family in Port St. Lucie. We're inviting all women to help us build this new home by; volunteering at the Habitat jobsite; participating in clinics and workshops to add new skills to their toolbelt; and sponsoring through in-kind and cash donations.
Inspired by the spaces within a home, and what those spaces represent, our local partners will offer free, How-to Clinics geared to teaching women valuable construction skills and preparing them for the Habitat build-site, and Empowering Women Workshops to provide women the opportunity to learn new skills and become better, stronger, healthier versions of themselves.
How-to Clinics and Empowering Women Workshops will take place at each facilitator's place of business, and scheduled during the day and evening hours during the St. Lucie Habitat for Humanity Women Build, March 1-10, 2019. Clinics and workshops will be facilitated by non-profit and private sector businesses. Home construction will take four to five months, beginning in March, and volunteer opportunities will be available and posted soon.
All are invited to attend a groundbreaking ceremony and meet the Moise family, at 12 PM, on February 16, 2019, at 1573 Faculty Court, Port St. Lucie.
All are invited to attend a special dedication of the Moise Habitat home - date to be determined.
This Women Build is dedicated to all women who face the challenges of homeownership and is in loving memory of Doreen Domato, who passed away on August 19, 2003.
